Evoca has added Duncan Odgers to its Commercial Team. Duncan joins Louise Wardle and Kate Millar, working under Sales Director Andrew Barrow. His responsibilities will include looking after customers within the M25, as well as managing many of Evoca’s Key Accounts.
Duncan’s CV includes spells at Refreshment Systems and Pelican Rouge, so he brings with him a wealth of industry experience covering a huge variety of machines – including Bean to Cup, Traditional and Vending machines.
‘I’m really pleased to join Evoca at a key time for the company, and I’m looking forward to meeting all the existing customers, as well as bringing new partners on board’, Duncan said. ‘Evoca has a great suite of brands and a range of equipment that can make a real difference to end users. Joining Evoca is exciting, as there are always new products to introduce and I’m very keen to make a start.’
Aged 46, and a former rugby player who was a nippy centre and winger, Duncan says he ‘likes to talk’; however, he’s on mission to avoid using the word ‘passionate’ to describe his approach to work. ‘It’s a bit of a cliché’, he says. ‘But I do care a lot about what I do. I know I’m not saving people’s lives; but when I have a good product, I get right behind it.
‘To me, the coffee business is simple, because its all about what’s in the cup. I don’t visit a customer and start immediately to talk about machines’, he says. ‘My first question is invariably, ‘how do you like your coffee?’ I get a huge range of responses, from people who say ‘I like it strong’, right up to experts with whom you can have a really interesting discussion about flavour profiles.’
Duncan describes his background as ‘in traditional coffee machines’. At Pelican Rouge, he worked mainly on Horeca accounts, whereas at Refreshment Systems, the entire gamut of machines was at his disposal – so its clear that he has ideal credentials to join the team which has the widest range of equipment in the industry in its remit.
Cornish by birth, Duncan will work his patch from his home in Hampshire, where he’s lived for 16 years.
Andrew Barrow is delighted with his new recruit. ‘Duncan brings a vast amount of knowledge with him to Evoca, so he’ll be a fantastic addition to our team. His enthusiasm is infectious and he is eager to start meeting our customers. We’re growing our customer base and product range all the while, so Duncan’s arrival will allow us to extend our reach even further.’
…And when he’s not putting in the hard miles, Duncan will take a key role in looking after customers at Evoca’s new London Showroom.
