The ‘Vending Does’ Team Strikes Again.
Vending Does co-founder N&W’s David Brady has been using a bit of pedal power to raise money for charity – again!
David joined fellow vending industry people Roger Bunn, Crane, Richard Allen, 4 Aces; Andy Cunliffe, and Ian Keeffe both from Benders, to cycle from Malaga to Vilamoura .
Known affectionately as ‘The Lycra Louts’, this team has form: Last year they cycled from London to Paris in three days, raising almost € 17,500 for British charities MacMillan and EdUkaid in the process.
This year’s event was carefully planned so that the team’s triumphant arrival in Vilamoura coincided with Day One of the AVS conference, which was taking place in the same city. We’re delighted to be first with the news that the whole event was an unqualified success!
The team arrived bang on time!

It’s not as though it was an easy ride. The team, consisting of seasoned cyclists, rode almost 500k in just three days, climbing a total of 4,877m in the process. On top of the physical demands of team membership, each individual was challenged to raise at least €650 in sponsorship – and to cover his own expenses.
This year’s beneficiary is Diamond Blackfan Anaemia Charity. DBA UK delivers support, research and hope to the DBA community in the UK by bringing families together, communicating the latest medical information and funding research into causes and cures.
‘Right from Day One it was hot, hilly and humorous’, David said, ‘in fact it was hill after hill after hill. You can never have enough hills! Despite that, the camaraderie and the morale of the Vending Does team was always great. I’d like to congratulate all who took part, especially our support team, Tony & Fred. They were absolutely brilliant!’
We know you’ll want to join us congratulating Vending Does, David, Roger, Richard, Andy, and Ian on their efforts. You can still donate you know!
