ARN’s Ones to Watch 15 : ARN gaffer John Crichton brings us his latest ‘Ones to Watch.’
Hello again.
Well, that was a rocking Vendex! We had more visitors to our stand than ever, and it was great to meet our old friends and make some new ones). Not that there was much time for catch-ups, mind: we had some great offers to talk about on the day, and many of you took advantage of them. Thank-you!
Ready? I’m typing this quickly because I know you’re all fast readers and I’ll try to keep up! These are my ARN’s Ones to Watch for this month.
Squashies
Since they came into vending, we’ve had a lot of success with Squashies from Swizzles-Matlow; so the arrival of an additional flavour into the range is to be welcomed. The newcomer is Strawberry & Cream, which for some reason reminds me of Wimbledon. (The Toon put six past them at St. James’ in October 1995, and Sir Les scored a hat trick. Happy days.) The cases consist of 12 x 120g bags. And remind me to tell you next time I see you that our Squashies sales are right up there with Haribo Starmix. Say no more…

Kenco Smooth 750 gm tins
The next thing on my mind is coffee. But I’ll finish this article first… We’ve got a tasty deal for you on Kenco Smooth, with 750 gm tins at £129.99 a case. I’m giving you the heads up on this one, because it seems that more and more vending operators are finding themselves with some contracts that oblige them to provide an element of foodservice. If that’s you, fill your boots and make hay while it’s still sunny.
For those customers who’ve been asking ‘Oi! When are we getting the new four-finger white KitKat?’, some good news. The answer is ‘Oi, now!’. And by the way, at £8.99 a case, you can’t say ‘foirer’ than that.

Dragon energy drinks
We were pleased to see Dragon Energy at Vendex. It’s further proof that Dragon mean business in vending, and their pitch in Milton Keynes was along the lines of ‘we have the products you need – and the ‘buzz’ to go with them…’ They’ve also got the prices to lure you into giving them a shot. This month, Dragon Energy drinks are on offer at 12x500ml Cans £4.99, 24x250ml Cans £5.99. People seem to like this product and hats-off to Dragon, the range is priced to sell through.
That’s it for now. Time for a quick brew and then it’s back to work for me.
Until next time, gan canny,
John
