Vendex North : Every year the message is the same. Vendex North is GREAT, writes Planet Vending MD & Publisher, Yvonne Reynolds-Young.
Phil Reynolds has shared with Planet Vending a page full of reviews, and every single one was positive, almost without exception they were short and sweet and the word that was most repeated? Great . So, it’s official, then. Vendex North 22 was great.
And from our point of view it was too.
I arrived at Vendex North early, around 9.40 and instantly regretted it when I couldn’t get in. I knew I was early but as a newbie to the venue I had hoped for a pre-show coffee somewhere. Nothing that I could see, so, I sat outside and was grateful it was just chilly and not wet! It wasn’t all bad though as I bumped into loads of old friends and clients also waiting for entrance and a number of exhibitors racing to get to their stands before opening time.
Being early meant there was only a tiny queue, (note to self – do it again); but very soon the lines of expectant visitors were stretched out the doors and almost onto the Elland Road pitch!
I have been to many Vendex’s over the years but this one was really lovely. Everyone was in a great mood, there was a load of hugging and genuine delight to be back with minimal fear of the dreaded COVID. We hear that it was around though – I hope anyone affected is doing well and recovers quickly.
Our UK based Co-Director, Ian Maguire (he’s the one with hungry boys and a taste for snacks and drinks) turned up too and we set about visiting as many stands as we could. I would however like to offer our apologies if we missed anyone out. I know I did, but time just ran away with itself…
What struck me was the vast diversity of products and services that were displayed this year. There seemed to be the right balance of products, machines and ancillary services. Everyone on every stand was passionate about their products. I now know more about coffee and how machines work than I did two weeks ago, that’s for sure!
If you are considering attending Vendex, either Midlands or North, then I would strongly recommend you get in touch with Phil Reynolds asap. The stands fill up quickly.
