Douwe Egberts Professional has spoken of its ‘delight’ at its  nomination for Best Ingredients Company at the VIAs 2014. As one of only two finalists in the category, Douwe Egberts claims that the award ‘recognises efforts to drive value and provide improved quality, consistency and variety across the vending industry.’

As winner of the award in 2013, Douwe Egberts will be looking to defend its title when the winners are announced on the 26th June 2014 at the Palace Hotel in Manchester.Douwe Egberts

Douwe Egberts Professional’s Espresso Bar concept is a leading gourmet vending solution that aims to improve the quality of vended coffee and the ingredients used, while opening up the margin opportunities for operators.

Martyn Bell, Marketing Manager at Douwe Egberts, said: “We are delighted to have been nominated for such a prestigious award.  Consumers have come to expect great tasting, high quality coffee that rivals the high street no matter where or when it is served. It’s great to be recognised for the efforts we make to meet the demands of ever-expectant consumers and create opportunities for vending operators to offer consistent and great tasting quality coffee at a reasonable price.”

Jason Runchman, Managing Director for 1st Vending, said: “We use Douwe Egberts’ freeze dried instant coffee, espresso beans and milk products because the Espresso Bar offering and Douwe Egberts brand is so strong and well recognised with consumers. We’ve seen an increase in sales since we became a Douwe Egberts supply partner, and we’re sure if we were to offer any other coffee in our machines our customers would consider it inferior.”

Duncan Campbell, Managing Director for DC7 Vending Limited, added: “We’ve now been working with Douwe Egberts for over two years and initially used the Espresso Bar brand in tabletop machines, which saw sales increase by 20 percent. DC7 has a healthy relationship with Douwe Egberts based on the high quality coffee, dedication, knowledge and professionalism.”
