Tea Takes The Biscuit At Caffe Culture

It may be traditionally about coffee, but the new product that impressed us most at Caffe Culture was… a tea brewer.

Unilever Food Services reckon that, for many years, ‘tea drinkers have been disappointed with the cup of tea they pay a premium for Out of Home’. Too true: water can be tepid, teas are of varying quality; tea bags are messy to dispose of and the offer lacks the perceived

excitement that coffee provides.LIPTON 3

Designed to get the best out of the leaf, Tea Fusion, we are told, ‘is a modern day tea preparation that provides excitement, consistency and premium quality at the touch of a button, with no mess and no fuss’.

Well, if taste and style are anything to go by, this little machine has the lot. Watching the brewing process takes you right back to the school chemistry lab: the brewing chamber becomes a light-catching whirlpool that grabs you by the taste buds and shouts ‘Oi!’

It’s a single brewer machine, but unlike the Tassimo coffee equivalent, or indeed the tea and coffee brewing Keurig system, users must open the tea pod before insertion into the machine.

We don’t know how much they are and, indeed, how much the individual pods cost,  but if the numbers stack up this could be a winner. The tea tastes great and the brewing process is as dramatic as anything you’ve ever seen a barista accomplish!
