By Vendman MD – Rob Little.
2015 was the year that saw Vendman re-define ‘customer support’ in UK Vending. We’d like to propose ourselves for consideration in respect of the ‘Best Ancillary Service’ Vendie.
On 3-4 September, ‘the largest single gathering of vending operators in living memory’ assembled at the Wellcombe Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon to participate in our ‘In Pursuit of Excellence’ event.
The received wisdom is that ‘encouraging your customers to get together to discuss you is business madness’, but that’s exactly what we did… It’s one thing to say ‘we listen to our customers’; it’s another entirely to provide them with a forum in which to speak to each other. This event, in conjunction with our ‘Annual Centres of Excellence Symposium’, generated a wealth of priceless feedback upon which we are already acting. More importantly, it allowed us to enjoy company and conversations with our customers, in such a way as could never be achieved on an exhibition stand.
We acted because we realised, some twelve months ago, that our expansion into Europe was accelerating and we resolved then that such growth would not be allowed to compromise the levels of support and service our UK customers have come to expect.
We acted because our software continues to develop apace with technology and today we employ 24 industry specialists, a rise of some 40% during the past six months. Every day, 25,000 visits to vending machines are recorded by Vendman software. Every week, £2.74m of stock is loaded into vending machines using Vendman software and every month, £750,000 in cash is monitored by Vendman software.
Out commitment to our customers was also demonstrated by our sponsorship of Planet Vending’s ‘The Best Of British’, series, which spotlights ‘the UK’s most successful vending businesses’. We never forget that when our customers are successful, so are we….
