Hello!
Just had this in from Roger Bunn. Thought I’d share it with you. (IR-Y)
Hi Ian
And the top of the morning to yourself, Roger.
David Brady, Ian Keefe, Andy Cunliffe, Richard Allen and I myself are at it again on the bikes. Wonder if you would be prepared to put a piece in Planet Vending for us please?
In vending’s best read, you mean? For free and for nothing? Course I will.
Remember this lot? Last June this lot of Vending Lycra louts led by David Brady and my good self cycled from London to Paris in three days and raised £15K for MacMillan and EdUkaid.
How could I forget? You had a better PR team than Donald Trump. We wrote all about it here. And here. And here.
Several of us are going to terrorise the European byways again this year.
Is that wise?
We’re planning to ride from Malaga in Spain to Vilamoura in Portugal ending up just in time to attend the AVS conference.
‘Just in time to attend the AVS conference’ you say… Is that ‘pre’ or ‘post’ a soak in the shower? Please advise…
More importantly we’re planning to raise funds for the Diamond Blackfan Anaemia charity. DBA UK aim to deliver support, research and hope to the DBA community in the UK by bringing families together, communicating the latest medical information and funding research into causes and cures.
So, readers of Planet Vending, do you want a challenge for September this year?
Mine is ‘remember to breathe’. (Yours, dear Reader, could be a bit more exciting…)
Do you want to raise funds for DBA?
Yes!
Could you ride 300 miles in three days and climb over 16000 feet?’
No!
Seriously folks: This is a challenge for seasoned road bike users. You will be expected to fund the cost of approximately £550.00, plus airfares and raise as much sponsorship from colleagues, family and friends as is humanly possible. Nobody said it would be easy; but if you’re hard enough, come and have a go!
*Roger and his Lycra Louts are also looking for sponsors for this challenge. They’d be grateful for any backing and any offers, no matter how small, would, I’m sure, be much appreciated. You know how to get in touch.
