The Apollo Range Of Payment Systems: Payter introduces ‘Improved Convenience For Both Operators And Consumers.’

Dutch company Payter, a pioneer and leader in the field of contactless NFC and Cashless technology, is to launch Apollo, a brand-new generation of payment systems into the UK vending market that it says will provide ‘improved convenience for both operators and consumers.’

The Payter Apollo is a contactless only terminal, whilst the ApolloMax is an all-in-one solution including ‘pin on glass’ support.

Apollo‘We have a developed a real ‘game-changer’ for the UK Vending Market’,  Global Sales Manager Ben Stocker told PV & OCS. ‘The first thing people will notice is the size of the terminal, which comes in at an ultra-slim 28mm’, Ben said. ‘We haven’t compromised on the touch screen size to achieve this; it’s a more than adequate 3.5 inches, perfect for item information or quality advertising. In terms of connectivity, operators will be spoilt for choice: they offer 4G and Wi-Fi as you’d expect and on top of that, there are a range of different interfaces including TCP/IP, Bluetooth, Pulse, Serial and USB.

‘There’s a built-in camera to read QR codes and/or1D/2D barcodes, which means the Apollo terminals are perfect for use in conjunction with payment apps or loyalty based promotions. Add to that an on-board speaker and a proximity sensor are also built in. It really is the complete package in one tiny unit’, Ben said.

Payter’s commitment to design and usability is clearly visible in the distinct design of the Apollo and will provide an enhancing extension to any Vending Machine.

The Linux based terminal has a simple development platform, there’s Plug & Play over MDB, (MDB stands for multi-drop bus, the computing language used by most vending machines); a telemetry suite and remote management is possible through the online back office.

Ben added: ‘We’re certifying the terminal with local gateways and acquirers, which means we will offer competitive transaction rates, daily transfer of funds and online boarding of merchants.

‘The terminals meet the EVA’s requirements for Cashless Vending Systems and with both the Apollo products being IP rated and vandal proof, we are looking to offer a competitive, robust solution to the market.

‘I’m really excited to bring the Payter Apollo and ApolloMax to market in the UK’, Ben concluded. ‘In a market populated by a lot of ‘me-too’ products, the range delivers improved convenience for both operators and consumers.’
