Now it’s Vendex, and Automatic Retailing Northern is preparing to decamp to The National Motor Cycle Museum, this may sound like old news, because it’s about what happened in January, (writes John Crichton). The thing is, we’ve been too busy to take time out to tell you that we’ve never been busier. In fact, January was a mad month. We set new records in terms of both the units we shipped and the money we turned over. Both categories were up by almost exactly 10%.
Why? Well, it’s nigh on impossible to predict sales over the Christmas and New Year period. Sometimes, with the best will in the world, product stocks can run dangerously low or even – worst case scenario – sell out. Nobody ever made money from an empty spiral, so when our customers find themselves up against it, it’s all hands on deck in our warehouse.
The upshot was that the first week in January 2019 was our best trading week ever. We’ll have worse months! But now it’s Vendex…
Needless to say, during the madness our warehouse was no place for the faint-hearted. However, we did find a moment to pat ourselves on the back for investing in an RF (radio frequency) wireless barcode scanning system and brand new electric pallet trucks. Without them… Well, it doesn’t bear thinking about.
Now it’s Vendex
And by way of emphasising the volume of products were talking about, we bet you weren’t aware that we’re now selling more chocolate bars through our web site every month than Ocado?
But now it’s Vendex and it’s a chance for us to get together again. I’m not sure what we’ll have on our stand next week, but if you’ve not tried them yet, take a look at some new products that have been flying out of the warehouse. Oatein, Jaffa Cake Nibbles; White Twix and KitKat Ruby.
So, see you next week and meanwhile, gan canny.
Now it’s Vendex.
