‘Let’s Promote Modern, Top-Quality Vending Solutions’, says Paul Ure

Over the years Options has supplied coffee and snack vendors to many TV programmes, including (to name but a few) Frost, Casualty, Holby City and Coronation Street.

However, PV has been told that ‘the company’s modesty was  given a serious test’, when Options was singled out for a starring role in Marvellous, the recent smash-hit, small screen portrayal of Potteries folk hero Neil “Nello” Baldwin.

That’s Nello on the left with Toby Jones, who played him in ‘Marvellous‘.

‘We were asked to provide a typical period 1980’s vending machine as a background prop for the set’, Options MD Paul Ure said, ‘however, we felt we owed it to the industry as whole to provide something more. We thought a top-quality Aimia Pour Moi hot beverage machine would be more suited to the role and our faith was rewarded when the same machine was awarded a BAFTA ‘Best Supporting Actor’ gong for it’s role in the film.’*

‘My extraordinary humility prevented me from attending the red carpet ceremony in person’, Paul said, (tongue firmly in cheek); ‘however, I would like to use the opportunity to raise a serious point to my fellow heavyweights in the vending industry, namely that we should all use every opportunity to promote modern, top-quality vending solutions like Aimia’s Pour Moi, rather than prolonging the view held by many consumers that vending is a tired and run-down industry.’

(And by the way, despite our intense research, we were unable to provide proof that the Pour Moi machine actually, like, ‘won a gong’. However, we can confirm that Marvellous was nominated in three Bafta categories: Toby Jones was for Leading Actor award for his portrayal of Neil and  Gemma Jones for Supporting Actress, for her role as Mary Baldwin. In addition, Marvellous was nominated in the ‘Single Drama’ category :-)) But we know what you mean guys ;-0 )
