‘Intelligent Vending’ As Standard at Excel

We’re pleased to bring you the latest post from Excel Vending’s blog, written by Graeme Geddes.

At Excel Vending we’re always looking to push the boundaries of conventional vending and make the shopping experience as simple as possible for our customers.

To do this we’re always on the lookout for the next best in thing in vending, the latest innovations in the industry, designed specifically with customer ease in mind. These days customers use all manner of means of payment. Coins, notes, and debit cards. It’s crucial that we’re able to cater for every payment method there is.

But this is only half the battle. It’s key to be prepared for future trends too, and not just for the present time. This is why we’re now able to source and install machines with contactless payment capabilities, too.

Although already in use, we’ve see more and more people turning to this technology as more debit cards come on line with ‘contactless’ functionality in them, as well as a new generation of smartphones with this technology built in.

But aside from payment methods, our machines are actually very intelligent too.

Crane’s Bevmax 4

Crane’s Bevmax machine, for instance, allows you to select multiple products at a time and pay the total balance in one go, making vending both quicker and simpler.

Plus, if there’s a selection which is empty, the machine will automatically go to the next section where the same product is stored. It’s the perfect marriage of intelligence and simplicity, all at your fingertips.

You can watch a short video of the Bevmax in action here:

Planet Vending’s Editor is Ian Reynolds-Young and it’s Ian’s unique writing talent that has made PV what it is today – the best read (red) vending blog in the world, and vending’s best read (reed). Ian ‘tripped and fell into vending’, in the capacity of PR executive, before launching a specialist agency, ‘reynoldscopy’, dedicated to the UK Vending business. The company continues to represent the interests of many of the sector’s leading brands.

‘It’s all about telling stories’, he says. ‘We want to make every visit to PV a rewarding experience. By celebrating the achievements of the UK’s operating companies, we’re on a mission to debunk the idea that vending is retailing’s poor relation.’
