‘Vending Needs You’: AVEX Committee Appeals For Feedback

The AVEX 2015 Committee is appealing for your feedback as it focuses on the future of  UK vending’s leading exhibition. We’ve received the following press release which we are delighted to publish verbatim.

We find member feedback incredibly valuable, so it was really great to see Johnny Broderick’s thoughts on the latest AVEX show featured on Planet Vending last week.

Johnny is kick-starting a debate that we hope other members will participate in. This is why we’ve launched our AVEX 2015 survey for visitors and exhibitors, to gauge opinion and gain insights into how we can continue to improve the show in years to come.

This year we tried out a lot of new initiatives, such as launching a bespoke website and app, introducing new specialist show areas and spending more time and resource on event communications than ever before.

‘…a name change. It was something we collectively decided against for this year, but we are open minded as to whether this is the case for the next show.’

We don’t expect to receive 100 per cent positive feedback about AVEX 2015, indeed what we are primarily seeking is more engagement from our members so that, together, we can continue to evolve the show and produce something fantastic that meets our members’ needs and offers real business value.

One of the key points Johnny made, which was debated by the show committee, was a name change. It was something we collectively decided against for this year but we are open minded as to whether this is the case for the next show – in fact, please do send your answers on a postcard! We can see the benefit of this and it’s something we are keen to debate further.

We also want to see more involvement in the show from complementary industries. This is why we engaged directly with these sectors, including the highest circulating FM, retail and education media outlets, through targeted networking, news and features in addition to display advertisements.

We also worked directly with Facilities Show 2015 to distribute promotional material directly to exhibitors and attendees about AVEX 2015. A big item on the agenda for the next show is certainly how we build on this engagement and collaboration.

We want to work more closely with the people that make UK vending the colourful and vibrant community it is to ensure that our next show is the best yet. From the largest operators to our sole traders – VENDING NEEDS YOU!

The Editor

Planet Vending’s Editor is Ian Reynolds-Young and it’s Ian’s unique writing talent that has made PV what it is today – the best read (red) vending blog in the world, and vending’s best read (reed). Ian ‘tripped and fell into vending’, in the capacity of PR executive, before launching a specialist agency, ‘reynoldscopy’, dedicated to the UK Vending business. The company continues to represent the interests of many of the sector’s leading brands.

‘It’s all about telling stories’, he says. ‘We want to make every visit to PV a rewarding experience. By celebrating the achievements of the UK’s operating companies, we’re on a mission to debunk the idea that vending is retailing’s poor relation.’
