I think this year is the year of the blue hair, and whilst it was done to save me from having to buy a hat for my niece’s wedding in June, it has been somewhat of a statement look all year. At AVEX recently, I was approached by a number of people I’d never previously met who obviously knew me and recognised me by the hair. To be honest, I’ve pretty much forgotten about its blueness now and only remember when I catch sight of myself in a mirror. Its faded big time so I have to change my colour palette to match its changing hue but that in itself isn’t a bad thing is it girls?
Anyway, one such OMG moment was last night when I was unexpectedly faced with my bright blue self on telly taking a selfie with our friends from Parcel Holders.

For those of you not on social media and part of the conversation that bounced around Facebook and Twitter on Wednesday night, Vending was thrust onto prime time TV on the BBC’s The One Show. Comedian and presenter Arthur Smith was exploring the advances of vending at The Vendies since wet and warm days and a good job he did of it too.

The production team were all over The Vendies back in June but I bet most of us had forgotten that the film would emerge one day. Emerge it did and I have to say that it put a spring in my step seeing our friends pop up all over the film. Nice to see a positive story about vending on TV. Who doesn’t get fed up seeing our beloved machines beaten up by actors and the like?

Anyway, well done to the organisers for getting the Beeb involved, and well done to Jenny Thompson, Mark Lamble and everyone else who did a piece to camera. Great placements for a number of brands with Vendman’s sponsorship highlighted too.
Some great memories for you all.
Have a look here. Whizz through the Mel Brookes (sorry Mel) bit to around 27 minutes. (Note: you may have to sign in to view)
