Vendex Amsterdam 2026: By Yvonne Reynolds-Young
Vendex’s first venture outside the UK with Vendex Amsterdam 2026 has earned an encouraging response from the industry, with visitors and exhibitors praising the organisation, the conversations and the opportunity to bring Europe’s vending community together.
Here is what organiser Matt Derry had to say once the dust had settled.
‘Amsterdam went really well. We had 472 attendees from around 327 external companies and at least 26 countries, with around 60% travelling from outside the Netherlands. The room was busy all day and the feedback has been really positive. We are definitely doing it again on 29 September 2027. There are a few venue and logistics details we would change, and we would like to keep sharpening the visitor mix, but overall the one-day format worked exactly as we hoped.’
Held at EXPO Greater Amsterdam on 30 September, the inaugural event took the familiar one-day Vendex format to the Netherlands. And judging by the post-show feedback on LinkedIn, there was plenty to like about its new surroundings.
The European Vending & Coffee Service Association (EVA) described the show as “snappy, efficient and successful”, identifying it as the first dedicated industry event in the Benelux region in more than a decade. The association welcomed the opportunity for the vending and unattended retail community to reconnect, highlighting valuable conversations and industry connections, and congratulating Matthew Derry and his team.
That emphasis on bringing people together was echoed by OAKA Vending (UK), whose team joined industry peers from across Europe. Its verdict offered both a useful comparison with the established UK shows and a little local colour.
This was, OAKA suggested, the “hottest Vendex of the year”—quite literally, thanks to the venue’s former life as a flower market and greenhouse!
Temperature aside, the company praised the organisation of Vendex Amsterdam 2026 as every bit as good as the UK event. Familiar suppliers were joined by different industry players, giving Amsterdam the buzz of a new, growing show. The city itself also received an enthusiastic thumbs-up, with OAKA looking forward to another edition and expressing interest in further locations.
For Vianet Group PLC and its partner Attenda, Vendex Amsterdam 2026 provided an opportunity to meet both new and familiar faces from the vending and unattended retail sectors. Their stand showcased contactless payment and telemetry solutions, with the team highlighting transaction costs and reliable connectivity as key talking points.
Taken together, these reactions suggest that the Amsterdam debut delivered something the industry values: time to meet, exchange ideas and explore products and services in person. EVA’s comments also underline the significance of a dedicated event returning to the Benelux region after such a long gap.
These are early impressions rather than a complete assessment of the show’s commercial results. Nevertheless, praise for the organisation, the mix of participants and the quality of the conversations gives Vendex an encouraging foundation for its European venture.
And the next chapter is already in the diary: Vendex Amsterdam returns on 29 September 2027.
