UVENCO has been awarded the vending contract for the 16th World Aquatics Championships in Russia, which runs concurrently with the Masters 2015 competition for professionals and veterans.
Russia is hosting these events for the first time and it’s a big deal: 2,500 participants and 1800 officials from about 200 countries are expected to descend on the Russian ‘Capital of Sport’, Kazan, where the athletes will compete for a record number of medals: 75 sets in six disciplines.
UVENCO has installed 62 branded vending machines at major event and training venues; 48 of them are indoors, the rest are outdoor points of sale.
Machine planograms include 2015 FINA souvenir merchandise in addition to the standard snack and beverage fare.
UVENCO teams from Kazan, (Russia’s ‘third city’) and Moscow have formed a joint task force to ensure smooth operation throughout this milestone event.
UVENCO has ‘form’ in large-scale events, having successfully delivered at the 2013 Universiade in Kazan and 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, contracts that UVENCO management say ‘boosted confidence in the quality of our vending service.’ Online telemetry is at the heart of the Kazan installation as you’d expect: telemetry plays a significant role in management of the entire UVENCO vending business, comprising more than 12,000 machines, including the latest generation MOVE machines.
“The FINA 2015 sports venues are under contract to us until August 20”, said Dmitry Lipatov, of UVENCO Kazan. “Meanwhile, we are actively negotiating with the venues to secure our long-term presence at these locations.”
* Next stop, the FIFA World Cup? It’s the next huge event on the Kazan calendar… Hey Dmitry, can you get your hands on any tickets, fella? 🙂 Ed
