The iX Water Range From WaterCare: Why Replace A Whole Filter, When You Can Just Replace The Media Insert?

WaterCare’s iX Water range. Here’s a frightening fact: a single-use water filter contains as much plastic as 56 water bottles. What’s more, it takes up to 1,000 years to biodegrade. Which begs question, ‘why replace a whole filter, when you can just replace the media insert?’

Hat’s off to WaterCare for recognising that it was high time to change things for the better. The Harlow head-quartered company, which has branches in Ireland, Denmark; Greece South Africa and Holland, has developed the new iX Water filter range, to tackle the pollution problem head-on.

‘The iX Water filters are the first truly eco-friendly, 100% recyclable cartridge filter on the market, offering Insert Refill Technology to provide a genuinely sustainable and cost-effective alternative to mainstream cartridge water filters’, Roger Whitehouse, Business Development Manager told PV. ‘It’s been designed specifically for use on coffee and vending machines, water coolers; ice machines and catering applications. We’re proud to say that The iX range offers a comprehensive product in a cost effective, efficient, flexible, and stylish package.’

WaterCare is acutely aware that waste plastic has an enormous and negative impact on the environment. Add that disturbing truth to the uncertainty surrounding a hospitality industry that remains in the grip of the Covid-19 pandemic and the case for a new solution is compelling. That’s why the company’s iX Water range has been created to deliver significant cost reductions, plus the opportunity to recycle 100% of the expired media inserts and return them to the marketplace. ‘By using the iX Water range, operators can keep both costs and waste down, whilst retaining measurable control’, Roger said.

A practical feature of the iX Water range is a newly designed head that makes maintenance so much simpler. It has quick shut off, a flush valve and an optional digital flow meter. ‘The head also has a variable bypass to allow some untreated water to be dialled back into the water supply, which is essential for improved coffee extraction, which means better tasting drinks’, Roger told us.

‘The iX Water range demonstrates how committed we are to providing cost effective, eco-friendly water treatment solutions’, Roger added. ‘The new iX range, along with our Replace & Return Program, provides an easy, responsible, and cost-effective alternative to current one-way systems. I’m confident that the marketplace will grasp the opportunity to embrace a better all-round filtration solution.’
