Support Vending’s Best Read!

Planet Vending is approaching its third birthday and we’re ready for next phase in the development of ‘vending’s best read’Here’s how you can be a part of it.

On 8/10/12, we ‘flicked the switch’ on Planet Vending and went ‘live’. There were probably around 30 stories on the site at that point. When we canvassed our first Vendex, less than a month later, no one had a clue who we were. Or what we were trying to do.

What we were trying to do back then was to ‘big up’ the UK vending industry to a sceptical ‘public’, made up of both those who purchase vending services and those consumers that are vending’s end users.

Now, nearly three years later, that remains our mission. These days, we receive press releases, stories, requests for commissioned articles and advertising on a daily basis so we’re able to get positive vending stories out there more frequently, and more effectively, than ever before.

Our strategy has worked, and it keeps on working: these days, we receive messages from every part of the vending world on planet vending, telling us how much they look forward to 3 o’clock on Friday afternoons, when the newsletter lands in their inbox. ‘It rounds up their week and marks the start of the weekend!’ It’s music to our ears!

We’ve published approaching 1000 stories, all of them searchable within the site, some of which are purely factual, some are inspirational; some are controversial (oops). (None of them are ‘dull’, regurgitated press releases). Whatever category our stories are filed under, you can be assured of one thing: every single one of them is a great ‘read’.

That’s why Planet Vending’s visitor numbers are currently up 65% over last year and that’s growth on top of growth: by July 2015, we had already surpassed our readership and visitor numbers for the whole of 2014.

Why are we telling you all this? Because the unprecedented success of Planet Vending is down to you talking to us, you reading what we publish and you subscribing. ‘You’ is what Planet Vending is all about.

We want to continue to give you what you want to see on our pages.

Here’s how you can help

Operators: Send us your good news stories: staff achievements, new contracts, appointments, awards – anything. Finished releases and articles that come complete with suitable supporting images will be published FOC; but if you need help putting your thoughts into words, let our in-house writers do it for you. It doesn’t cost nearly as much as you’d imagine and remember, after your story is posted, our Social Media team clicks in to gear to make sure that the people you want to read your story know that it’s there and are invited to read it.

Nobody else can do that for you. It’s what makes us unique.

Suppliers: The same applies, essentially. If what you have to say is newsworthy, we’ll publish FOC. If it’s clearly an advertorial, (saying nothing new), then ask us for a quote to publish. If you’re a supplier new to the vending industry and want to make an impact, talk to us. Thanks to our in-depth knowledge of who’s who in vending, we may be able to open doors that, otherwise, may remain stubbornly closed to you…

In all cases, we reserve the right to maintain Planet Vending’s inimitable style, so don’t worry: if we edit your article / news release, it’s only to make it more palatable to our readers.

Promotional Opportunities

Suppliers to the vending industry, don’t forget: the promotional and advertising opportunities on Planet Vending are limited, so if you’d like to make your mark in the UK vending industry, be quick out of the blocks and work with us to create a bespoke campaign, with a mixture of editorial and advertising, designed to help you achieve your objectives. We’ll work within your budget.

We’re not only vending’s best ‘reed’, we’re also vending’s best ‘red’!

Yvonne Reynolds-Young

Planet Vending’s MD and Publisher is Yvonne Reynolds-Young. An island of corporate common sense surrounded by oceans of creative madness, Yvonne is the person to call if your intention is to make something happen. (She controls all the diaries and all the money, FYI). ‘Customer service is my responsibility and it’s my job to make sure we’re always ahead of deadlines’ she says. ‘My background in big business means I speak the same language as our corporate clients and understand the particular pressures they face when working in the vending arena.’
