Australian Vending Association

Innovative Technology Joins The Australian Vending Association

By joining the Australian Vending Association, Oldham based company Innovative Technology continues to expand its operations around the world.

The company was established in 1992 at premises on Park Street, Royton. It focused on the design and manufacture of cost effective banknote validators. In 1994, Innovative Technology launched its first product, the NV1, and the iconic Smiley bezel was born. With the early success of affordable banknote validators, they expanded into Europe, opening offices in Barcelona (Spain) and Hamburg (Germany).

Having grown rapidly, in 1997, Innovative Technology won its first Queen’s Award for Exports. With ambitious plans for the future, the business relocated to purpose built facilities on Derker Street, Oldham in 1998. The original NV1 made banknote validators affordable to the AWP market, and with the release of the NV4, easing the transition to the Euro, the company’s success continued and they were awarded their second Queen’s Award in 1999.

And now, the latest chapter in the success story. Innovative Technology (Asia Pacific) Pty Ltd. has announced that it’s joined AVA – the Australian Vending Association. AVA was established in 1967 and since that time has been representing the interests of the vending industry in Australia.

The Australian Vending Association is made up of vending operators, equipment manufacturers, product suppliers, service suppliers, distributors, consultants and educators.  They lobby for legislative monitoring and action and provide an industry voice promoting the interests of the Australian Vending industry.

Scott McLennan, Innovative Technology’s Business Development Manager, Australia said: “We’re pleased to announce our membership of AVA and intend to use this as an opportunity to keep abreast of the latest developments as well as networking opportunity with fellow industry members. This membership represents our commitment to strengthening our presence in the vending market in Australia. The APAC office has seen growth over recent years and now offers full service and support facilities for local customers. Becoming a member of AVA is just the latest step in this period of expansion. As Business Development Manager focusing specifically on both Australia and New Zealand, I look forward to making use of all of the membership benefits that AVA have to offer. I’m excited to be able to bring the NV9 Spectral note validator to the Australian vending market later this year. Our latest innovation, NV9 Spectral is the most technically advance note validator it its class. Spectral sensors offer full note high resolution imaging to authenticate banknotes and faster note-to-note processing making the NV9 Spectral ideal for vending applications. The NV9 is the latest addition to our current range of vending validators available in the region such as the BV50 bill acceptor with its flexible stacking options and cash box capacities suitable for vending machine applications.”
