Unfortunately PV couldn’t get to the funeral of the much loved Ernie Johnson, North East Vending, but sent our best wishes and apologies to Sarah Forster.
She’s written back to us today with a message that she’d like us to pass on, on behalf of the family.
‘I was wondering if you would be so kind to publish an Industry wide thank you from Phil and I for all the kind messages, cards and support we’ve received from all the lovely people in the vending industry over the last few weeks……
The tremendous amount of people who attended the funeral really helped us make it a wonderful send off for a truly, wonderful man. We think that there were between 350 and 400 who were there to say goodbye.

What was so clear also were the sheer number of people (in particular within the vending industry) who were there for Dad and for what he had done to help them in their careers, in particular people just starting out in vending.
I suppose when returning to work after a close family bereavement the hard part is getting back to normal and your work colleagues not understanding or knowing the person, however, in our case, having Dad all around us here at Northeast Vending is really comforting…’
Well said Sarah, his legacy lives on with the many people he helped over the years.
