Excel Vending Makes Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Short List

Excel Vending has been shortlisted once again for an award at the Glasgow Business Awards 2016.

Run by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, the current Scottish Chamber of the Year, the awards are keenly contested by the best businesses in the Glasgow area.

Excellence in Communication

‘We’ve been shortlisted in for the ‘Excellence in Communication’ award’, MD John MacDonald told PV .  It’s particularly satisfying to be recognised in this category because of our commitment to communication.  It’s an important part of our success.  It starts with how we communicate internally with our own personnel, making sure they feel part of a growing and successful team. Then, there are our customers: it’s important that they know what we’re doing and that we keep them up to speed with the emerging technologies that are capable of adding value to their vending solutions so that they are as good as they possibly can be.

‘On an operational front, we use the very latest real-time sales reporting to communicate sales performance in the machines’, John said. ‘This enables customers to make informed decisions about the products they offer for sale.  We’ve also invested in real-time vehicle tracking, enabling us to keep customers completely informed about deliveries and service calls.’

Social Media’s the key

‘Perhaps the most visible form of communication is evident on our website and social media channels. This is where we engage with the end-users of our machines about ongoing promotions, product news and competitions.  This end-user engagement is valuable to them, however it is also very important to us. Its how we can be sure that we’re offering the products they prefer to buy.’

You might argue that the most important element of this communication has been Excel’s ability to promote healthier eating choices in their vending machines. The company is working with organisations like NHS Health Scotland and the Healthy Living award to make sure vending leads the way as Scotland tackles its health issues head on.

We definitely believe in the power of excellent communication, so we are delighted to be named as a finalist in this category’, John said. ‘We’re all looking forward to the awards ceremony, which will take place at the Glasgow Hilton on 6th October.’

PV wishes them well!
