BY DAVE WARD – M.D., N&W GLOBAL VENDING.
For all of us at N&W, AVEX 2015 stands for Absolute Vending EXcellence.
We’ll be leading the vending industry’s invasion of Manchester armed with what we genuinely believe is the best range of machines that vending has to offer to the modern operator. We invite you to join us, to put that claim to the test…
Here’s why: to quote one of the chaps in our warehouse, ‘there’s lots of new stuff, again.’ He’s right, once again we have ‘lots of new stuff’ for you to see for the first time at AVEX 2015.
First and foremost there’s the ‘concept’ machine we’ve developed with Intel. OK, it’s not scheduled for production any time soon, but it is on the way and it will bring with it a brave new world of opportunities. Come and take a look!

There’s lots more to see, besides: Take Samba Touch, for example. The traditional key pad has gone and in its place, a touch screen. Apart from the fact that it looks stunning – its effect on passing foot traffic is magnetic – Samba Touch delivers ‘shopping basket’ technology. This means that a customer, (guided effortlessly through the purchasing process by on-screen cues familiar to all tablet and smart phone owners), can choose up to three products at once and pay for them in a single transaction. You can even offer discounts for multiple purchases! Never before has using a vending machine been so easy and so rewarding. And that’s not all, by the way if you haven’t seen our ETL, or Electronic Tray Label machines yet, they’re worth a visit in their own right. As soon as you see what this technology can do, you’ll have your own ideas about how you can use it… We think it’s a game changer and we’re confident that you will, too. In fact, ETL has been short-listed in the Machine Innovation category at The Vendies, along with the Canto Touch.

Touch screens are something of a theme with us at AVEX 2015, as you’ll see for yourself. Not only have we introduced this technology on our free standing machines, the new Wittenborg touchscreen table-top will be on parade; it’ll become the machine of choice in tomorrow’s coffee towers, so take this opportunity to check it out.
Did we say ‘stand?’. We really mean ‘stands’. You’ll find Samba Touch and its fellow free-standing vending machines on Stand 152 in Manchester Central, but we’ll also be open for business across the way on ‘Barista Street’, the focus of the exhibition’s HoReCa products. What better place to demonstrate our (barista) street-wise, automatic, fresh milk coffee machines.
You could say we’ve come a long way since our Kobalto semi-automatic machine took on High Street bought coffee in a ‘live-on-tv’ taste test and won; and we have: except that our on-air triumph happened just down the road from Manchester Central, in the building that now houses the National Museum of Football, (which is well worth a visit if you can spare a couple of hours).
So you see, we’ve got a track record of raising the bar for Out of Home coffee in Manchester and this time around, we’re planning to do it again. Manchester is famous for its artisan coffee culture and we’re hoping the baristas of the northern quarter will turn out at AVEX 2015 in force, to experience for themselves just how good our fresh-milk, automatic machines really are… Maybe some of them will conclude that the addition of an automatic machine behind the bars will help build their businesses?

The beautiful Karisma will doubtless take centre stage; but be sure to take a look at Koro Max and Krea as an alternative fresh milk solutions. Great tasting coffee is now just a push-button away, enabling small hotels, meeting rooms, break-out areas and training rooms to serve top-quality refreshments where and when they’re needed most…
So, why not make point of visiting N&W at AVEX 2015? You’ll find ‘the big stuff’ on Stand 152 and ‘the little stuff’ across the way at 206 Barista Street.
It’s going to be the best AVEX ever, so make sure you’re there and make sure you take time-out to see what N&W is all about. As we said at the start, we believe ours ‘is the best range of machines that vending has to offer.’ Come along and put that claim to the test!
