Azkoyen Group : Spanish technology giant Grupo Azkoyen (the Azkoyen Group), owners of the popular Coffetek coffee machine brand, has announced the acquisition of Vendon, a leading company in connectivity, IoT solutions, telemetry and payment media. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Riga, Vendon has more than 45,000 connected machines.
The take-over brings Azkoyen Group’s vision – the creation of a platform for integrated services and personalized developments, at a European level, for operators, roasters, manufacturers in the field of coffee, vending and retail – a huge step closer to being realised.
COGES, which is part of the Azkoyen Group, has been in the payment systems market for more than 40 years and has more than 40,000 connected machines, the majority of them located in southern Europe. On the other hand, Vendon are particularly strong in central and northern Europe. It looks like the perfect match…
In a statement to customers, Azkoyen Group said it expects to reach the milestone of 100,000 connected machines‘before the end of the year’.
The acquisition of Vendon will allow Azkoyen customers to streamline their operations as never before, with real-time data analysis, AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML (Machine Learning) tools that enable the remote management ofmachine performance and stock control. The company says it will also be able ‘to increase the introduction of innovative contactless payment systems and mobile payment’.
Azkoyen has confirmed that projects already underway with a variety of partners, will not be affected by the acquisition.
