It started with a phone call from Dave Ward wearing his ‘Chair of the AVA’ hat and it went something like this: ‘I’m supposed to be sponsoring this but I can’t be there – can you do it?’
And that’s how it came to pass that David Llewellyn, Sales Director of Seaga, took the reins of an AVA event that was sponsored by N&W…

‘When I agreed it do it’, David told PV, ‘I didn’t realise what a pain it would be!’ He was only joking… ‘No, it was a jolly good day and everybody enjoyed themselves.’
The AVA holds three golf days every year, all tied in neatly with regional meetings. With the meeting on one day – this time the focus was AVEX 2017, in which an expert panel discussed the new elements of this year’s exhibition and fielded questions from members – and golf on the next, the incumbent overnight stays have become an important cog in the industry’s networking machine. The next get-together will be in Wetherby on 21 June, followed by Burnham Beaches in September. Be there!

This time around, twenty-two players teed off and most of them caught the sun on what was the most attractive Spring day of the year so far.
The winner was Cliff Mason, of Nupik-Flo, ahead of Chris Starling of Nestlé Professional and Andrew Edwards, of Ferrero. Nestlé Professional scooped anther prize when Rob Gormley delivered the day’s longest drive and the gong for ‘Nearest The Pin’ went to Ralph Taylor, of Custom Pack.

We particularly like the highly professional way in which the N&W logo was added to David’s Seaga polo shirt. Nice touch!
