The AVA has hailed its recent AGM and AVEX 2017 Ballot events, both held at the NEC in Birmingham this week, as ‘highly successful’.
The occasions brought key people from the industry together to network and discuss current and future market conditions. There was also a much-anticipated guest speaking slot from one of Britain’s leading names in sports journalism, Ray Stubbs.
New Website
Key highlights at the AGM included the AVA’s announcement that it is launching its brand new website, www.the-ava.com, along with the announcement of plans to hold a gala dinner at AVEX 2017, with proceeds going to charities linked with the vending industry. The event will be held on Tuesday 12th September 2017.
Christmas Do
The AVA also revealed the location of this year’s Christmas do: it’ll be held at One Whitehall Place in London, overlooking the Thames, on 8th December 2016.

The AVEX 2017 Ballot
The AVEX 2017 Ballot, held straight after the AGM, provided an opportunity for members to secure the most prominently located stands at discounted prices.
Several big names in the vending industry have already signed up, including Coca Cola Enterprises, N & W, Nestlé Professional, Jacob Douwe Egberts Professional, Mondelez, Crane Merchandising Systems, Coffetek and SuzoHapp Group UK.
The Ballot was hosted by Ray Stubbs, who gave an engaging speech about his time as a trainee at Tranmere Rovers FC, as well as the highlights of his career at the BBC, ESPN and BT Sport.
The AVA’s Chief Executive, Jonathan Hart said ‘it was great to bring the industry together in one place. I was happy to update members on the exciting pipeline of activity planned for the coming months, particularly our new website.
‘The AVEX 2017 Ballot proved very popular. We look forward to seeing everyone at vending’s biggest trade show next year. A special thanks to Ray Stubbs for his highly engaging speech at this year’s event. It was a pleasure to have him on board!
