ARN CEO John Crichton has important news for vending operators…
Hello again
This month’s epistle is lighter on the levity than of late, and I make no apology for that because there are a couple of topics we need to address. And when I say ‘we’, I don’t mean just ARN, I’m talking about the whole industry.
Let’s start by talking about six huge Cadbury’s products: Twirl, Wispa; Boost, Double Decker; Dairy Milk and Dairy Milk Caramel. Essentially, Mondeléz has revised the loyalty scheme, so that we can offer you these Top 6 products at an unbeatable price.
Mondeléz is eager to reward the loyalty of its vending customers
The Cadbury Loyalty scheme that we at ARN offer our customers is evidence that Mondeléz is eager to reward the loyalty of its vending customers; but this new price move escalates their commitment to our industry. And rest assured, the new lower prices won’t have a negative impact on your Cadbury Loyalty Scheme benefits. What’s more, this is a long-term proposition, not a temporary promotion. It’s a testament to Mondelez’s loyalty to their vending operator customers that they’re pulling out all the stops to protect their relationship with the whole industry.
Surely, the new £17.99, price is ample evidence of that? I’d sum it up in three words: ‘accept no substitute’.
Donkey’s years ago, I’d arranged to meet a girl outside Fenwick’s. It was a first date, so I got there early. I waited an hour and a half before I gave up and accepted that she wasn’t coming. If you’re waiting for Lucozade to return and take its place in your summer spirals, you need to do what I did and give up. It’s not coming.
It’s no secret that Suntory, the suppliers of Lucozade, have been ‘having issues’, to put it politely. They’ve accepted that there are difficulties in ‘management efficiencies’ and with ‘the supply chain’. On top of that, there was a damaging strike and then, just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, there was an accident at the company’s plant in Coleford, Gloucestershire.
Estimates vary, but we read that Lucozade’s ‘Energy’ and ‘Sport’ lines are likely to be unavailable until August. It’s time to move on. The good news is that we have Carabao, I-Pro, and Boost available as usual; so if you want a 12 x 500 ml hydration drink as an alternative, look no further.
The brands all want you to choose them to take up the slack, so they’ve all come up with an offer to tempt you:
- Carabao Sport: Buy 4 cases, get one free (CQuin compliant).
- I-Pro hydrate @ £7.99 per case
- Boost Sport @ £5.99 per case
You pays your money, you makes your choice!
That’s it for now, time to get back to work.
Until next time, gan canny
