Andrew Barrow Takes the Lead for Evoca UK Sales and Customer Service

AndrewAndrew Barrow, who joined Evoca UK a year ago, has been promoted to the role of ‘lead for all the Evoca UK Sales and Customer Service teams’ as part of an internal restructure at Kingswinford, which also sees Craig Jukes taking responsibility for the company’s Technical, Service and After Sales Care teams. His background embraces both vending and coffee. ‘I learned my trade at Concept Coffee Systems, he says. ‘It was a small company, so I was ‘hands on’ during every part of the process. For six years, I was qualifying leads, making face-to-face sales; setting up leasing agreements, ordering machines; putting them in the back of the car and installing them – the whole thing. I can even remember taking a customer’s leasing cheque to the bank!

Andrew’s move into vending, however, was his introduction to the industry’s Big Hitters: ‘I went to work for Café Bar, which became Autobar and then Pelican Rouge, before morphing into Selecta.’ He won the company’s ‘Rookie of the Year’ award and in subsequent years the accolade of Salesperson of the Year.  He was promoted twice; first to Regional Sales Manager, where he managed a team of twelve, and subsequently to Regional Sales Director.

‘I’m delighted that Evoca’s vending products are now within my remit’, Andrew says. ‘I have a real affinity with the vending world and I’m passionate about our range of machines and our management solutions, in terms of how they can help a business to meet the expectations of increasingly demanding consumers. There are numerous advantages incumbent in customers using Evoca as their ‘one stop shop’, and that’s the message I’ll be taking to the marketplace.’

Normally, Andrew would be gearing up to meet customers at Vendex at Milton Keynes, but as luck would have it… ‘We decided to make our debut at the Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Show this year and unfortunately, there’s a clash with Vendex’, he said. ‘It’s just one of those things. We’ll be at Vendex Leeds in November and back at Milton Keynes next year, so as they say: ‘normal service will be resumed!’

Planet Vending’s Editor is Ian Reynolds-Young and it’s Ian’s unique writing talent that has made PV what it is today – the best read (red) vending blog in the world, and vending’s best read (reed). Ian ‘tripped and fell into vending’, in the capacity of PR executive, before launching a specialist agency, ‘reynoldscopy’, dedicated to the UK Vending business. The company continues to represent the interests of many of the sector’s leading brands.

‘It’s all about telling stories’, he says. ‘We want to make every visit to PV a rewarding experience. By celebrating the achievements of the UK’s operating companies, we’re on a mission to debunk the idea that vending is retailing’s poor relation.’
