Hot on the heels of the Tower to Tower crew comes our interim AVA CEO and vending whizz. She sets out soon on her own challenge. MS is close to our hearts at PV so we wish her, and her team members, all the best with this mighty event.
The AVA’s interim CEO, Gillian White, will be joined by 19 fellow adventurers on a charity walk that will see the intrepid team of 20 venture along the entire 68 mile coastal path of the Isle of Wight in under 33 hours for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Trust.
In memory of Kathleen Painter, who passed away after a tireless battle with MS, it is hoped the non-stop, two-day island hop, which takes place over the weekend of 4-5 July, will raise much needed funds for the charity.
Organised by Kathleen’s indefatigable brother, Kenny Smith, the expedition is one of many challenges he has completed in his quest to support the MS Trust, including bus-pulling and Sahara trekking.
Dedicated to making life better for people living with multiple sclerosis, the MS Trust provides free information to everyone affected by MS and supports the health professionals who work with multiple sclerosis.
Gillian White comments: “I’m really excited to be participating in the Isle of Wight island hop, as not only can I indulge in my love of the outdoors and exercise, I can also support a fantastic charity, as well as the many thousands of people it helps year in, year out.
“The trek will be a tough one, so any support the vending industry can offer will most certainly push us on to complete the challenge.
“If anyone would like to find out more, they can catch me at AVEX 2015, taking place on 30 June – 1 July at Manchester Central, just a few days before the trek.”
