Vendies Finalist: Smart Vend

BY SIMON HALEWOOD

Just months after heralding the arrival of the world’s first full production facial recognition enabled vending machine on the UK market, the Smart Vend Solutions team is thrilled to be nominated for Best Machine Innovation at this year’s prestigious Vendies Awards.

We’re incredibly proud that our commitment to push the boundaries of what is possible in our industry has been recognised and we’d be honoured if you would spare a moment to vote for us to win this fantastic award.

While it gives us great delight to be among such an impressive shortlist, we believe that our Luce X2 Touch TV machine represents the very pinnacle of bold innovation. It is simply unmatched in providing a bespoke, personal experience for users and represents a major technological advancement for the industry.

Facial recognition will soon become a common fixture of the retail and vending experience as consumer demand for personalised services continues to grow – and the international media seem to agree with us!

The unique features of the Luce X2 have garnered intense interest from the world’s major media outlets, featuring on BBC Radio Two’s Simon Mayo Show in the UK, the US news channel, Fox News, and as far and wide as Latin America and Australia.

This revolutionary machine introduces consumers to a new world of interactivity and customer service through its LCD 22” touch-screen interface, which can be linked with an existing database of self-registered subscribers.

Using state-of-the-art software developed over the last two years, the advanced facial mapping system is capable of identifying, personally greeting and servicing registered users with tailor-made options based on historical purchases, favourite recipes and personal information.

Perfect for retail, office, health and education environments, the machine automatically launches into a video greeting when a user approaches by utilising motion sensors. A recognised user is then presented with a bespoke menu based on his or her most frequently ordered items.

In a potentially life-saving innovation, the software also enables the machine to allow or disallow certain products based upon users’ dietary requirements – an advancement that could have major implications for catering in environments where users have special dietary needs, such as hospitals, care homes and schools.

And, in addition to its significance for catering in care-providing environments, the Luce X2 offers tangible commercial benefits, providing a luxury, low maintenance retail option, ideal for offices and leisure centres and fully set up for on-screen advertising.

We’re proud to say that Luce X2 Touch TV sets this new standard for cutting-edge automatic customer service in the vending industry, heralding a new era of interactivity and personalisation – an innovation which truly sets it apart from the rest.

Thank you all, and here’s to a great night in Manchester on July 1st!
