Plymouth-based premium crisp brand Burts Chips, will be showcasing its exciting and innovative new snacking launches – Quinoa Crinkles, Fish ‘N’ Chips and Smoked Crispy Bacon – at Vendex Midlands 2017. Exhibiting on Stand 9, Burts will be giving visitors the opportunity to not only sample the NPD, but also the existing award-winning portfolio, available to customers in the vending market.
Vending plays an important role in the Burts business. In the past 2 years Burts has won five prestigious Vending awards for its tasty hand-cooked chips. Last year Burts Spit Roast Steak Potato Chips walked away with the prize for Best New Product and Burts Lentil Waves Thai Sweet Chilli fought off stiff competition to take home the award for Best Health & Wellbeing Product.
Last year Burts had 22% growth is vending and this is expect to exceed that in 2017. Burts continues to innovate the snacking sector and be the brand of choice for discerning consumers looking for a tasty snack with free-from credentials.
Across the vended snacks market, there is growing demand for a genuinely healthy product that also tastes great and doesn’t compromise on flavour. The ‘Better For You’ market is now worth approximately £158 million and Quinoa Crinkles is set to lead the way in this growing category. With less than 90 calories per packet, and seasoned with natural flavours, the Crinkles feature 45% less fat[1], are gluten free and a source of fibre. This snack is an ideal product for vending machines – particularly in hospitals, educational establishments, leisure centres and other locations where there is a need to offer healthier food choices.

Burts Chips Sales & Marketing Director, Simon Knight, commented: “We are delighted to unveil our latest innovations at Vendex Midlands and show how we are driving sector growth and meeting consumer demand. The show is a great opportunity to network with customers and trade buyers and we look forward to gaining first-hand feedback on our latest products.”
