Following the acquisition of Comesterogroup in September 2014, Suzo-Happ has focused its attention on the Currenza C2 coin changer, one of the leading products on the automatic Vending market. The group has begun 2015 by investing in the establishment of an international task force made up of specialist engineers and production staff devoted to the product’s in-house construction.
‘Suzo-Happ acquired the license to sell the Currenza C2 coin changer in 2013′ explains Carles Alexaindre, Suzo-Happ’s Executive VP & General Manager, Global Vending. ‘This licence secures our company perpetual rights to the technology and product-related patents.‘ The license terms set out a fixed period of time, which will finish at the end of 2016, during which the Crane-NRI Group has an obligation to produce the Currenza C2 coin changer for Suzo-Happ for the EEA area and Switzerland only. ‘During this period, Suzo-Happ has the right to start its own in-house production of the product whenever it sees fit,’ Carles Alexaindre continues.
‘Hence the decision to establish a dedicated team of experts drawn together from production sites in Italy, China and the Netherlands with a single objective: to independently produce the coin changer ourselves’ adds Roberto Lamesta, Comesterogroup’s Sales Director for Vending, Laundry and Industrial Applications. ‘Production of all currently available versions will get under way in the third quarter of 2015: the Currenza C2 coin changer produced by Suzo-Happ will have the exact same requirements as the current validator: it will be absolutely identical to the product we know and love from a mechanical, electronic and software point of view. Components and spare parts will of course be fully compatible with currently available versions of the Currenza C2 coin changer, so as to ensure seamless product support‘ concludes Roberto Lamesta.
The Group’s strong belief in innovation is the reason why one of the tasks of the new development team devoted to the Currenza C2 coin changer will be to design future product versions, which we will be able to sell outside the EEA area, in order to expand our business globally.
