Pelican Rouge Group acquires operations of Maas International in Belgium, Luxembourg, United Kingdom and Ireland

It’s official:

Pelican Rouge Group today announced that it has agreed a definitive agreement to acquire Maas International Businesses in Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland and the UK. This allows Pelican Rouge to further strengthen its market positions in these countries whilst Maas International will be able to focus on its core markets which are Germany, Denmark and  Holland.

Pelican Rouge Group is a long established coffee company with its own brand active in 12 European countries. The brand was established in Antwerp in 1863. They master each part of the process, from sourcing to roasting. The unique international network enables them to deliver and serve more than 150.000 customers across the globe.

Maas International is a long established supplier of vending services, founded in 1889 and is a privately owned enterprise. Maas supplies services and maintains vending machines and related products. Maas will continue to focus its operations in the Dutch, Danish and German markets. Maas International also owns the German machine manufacturing company Spengler.

The acquisition of these operations will expand the customer base of Pelican Rouge in the market where they have a strong position and the acquired Maas International customers will benefit from Pelican Rouge’s quality coffee and service.

The acquisition will be completed by the end of March 2015 and integration is expected to be completed by end of 2015.

“We are excited with this acquisition which allows us to continue to grow and be able to provide more customers with our premium coffee. Additionally this will contribute to deliver on our strategy to reinforce our credentials as a Coffee Roaster with multiple distribution channels” said Alain Beyens, CEO Pelican Rouge.
