A new electrical training course for AVA members has proved a success. The course, which took place at Coffetek HQ in Bristol on the 9th & 10th December, was developed by the AVA’s Technical Committee, with support from the AVA board.
The two-day course has been developed both for new starters in the industry and for experts seeking to refine their skills. Eight engineers, from Cymraeg Vending, Morvend; Selecta, Café Spa and Vendaid came together for the ‘Basic Principles’ course. Tutor Phil Watts of Ascot College of Electrical Studies took the participants through the basics of electrical vending in both theory and practice. The engineers, who encompassed a wide range of knowledge and experience, all found the course to be informative, useful and beneficial to them in their everyday jobs.
With several dimensions to the course, beginning with a paper test before two, two-day courses, future participants will complete the course thoroughly rehearsed in both the theoretical and the practical side of electricity in vending. The official accreditation will be awarded once participants have completed relevant work experience and a further, advanced course.
Twenty-four people have thus far have completed the paper test, so both basic and advanced courses will be scheduled for 2016.
