Each year hundreds of children go to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for radiotherapy treatment which is usually given over 35 consecutive days. Each time these young patients are anaesthetised to ensure they don’t move during their radiotherapy treatment.
These days can be long not only for them, but also for their parents and family.
The treatment is a scary experience for anybody, but it is especially frightening for children who are more used to the bright interiors of children’s hospitals.
The hospital want to raise £250,000 to make being treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham as pleasant an experience as possible for young patients and this is why Refresh donate £1 for every case of instant coffee we sell, and £2 for every case of coffee beans we sell.
