Poptang has arrived and it’s ‘Poptastic’!

At PV we don’t often get a knock at the door from the postie bearing edible gifts, (hints to other snack and drink providers), but when we do we’re diligent in the extreme to rip open the packages and devour, after a reasonable amount of deliberation over the taste and quality, the contents.

Yesterday, I had been stuck in the car on the M40, M42, and M6 and various other ‘M’s around Manchester for a total of 7+ hours so by the time I made it back to PV Towers, I was not only starving but I had completely lost the will to function. Luckily the editor took pity on me and dragged me out to the local Italian eatery and in a daze of gin and Italian beer I finally landed back in the world.

After the marathon journey from hell, I had seen in the corner of my eye that something big with my name on it had been sitting by the door but hadn’t really registered its ‘importance’.

I now ripped open the packaging – and lo and behold, another box… So I ripped this one open too. (Sorry, should’ve been more careful!)

Well, I have to tell you that what was inside looked amazing. Very classy packaging and definitely interesting, but I just couldn’t imagine that I would like orange or apple flavoured popcorn. The editor had a look too and said he wasn’t sure either… but, in the interests of research, we opened a packet of Orange Tango Poptang, then we opened another, and another… Wow, these are really really good, they are not just fruity but they really do have a tang about them! So, buoyed on by the spectacular success of the Orange one, we went on to try Apple Tango.  I am here to tell you, PV readers, that Apple Poptangs are a revelation. They taste appley, they’re crunchy and (tip) check out what lies at the bottom of the packs!  Very good, and can we have some more please?

The lovely people at Yumsh (of Ten Acre fame) sent us a press release and here are some bits from it, but honestly, forget all that. Contact them, order some, and tell them we sent you!

‘Yumsh Snacks have combined high quality popcorn with the fantastically tangy taste of Tango. Poptang is the only popcorn with Tango’s tangy fruit flavour fizz. Poptang is also gluten, dairy, GMO and MSG free – as well as vegan and kosher. Available for retail, foodservice and vending.’

Tony Goodman, CEO of Yumsh Snacks, said: “Poptang is about to make a fruity explosion in the snack world. Yumsh Snacks are renowned for their premium quality popcorn and ‘Free From Plus’ credentials. These have been intrinsically woven together with two sensational flavours from Tango – an iconic UK brand. The result is a fizz-tastic new snack, which will tang the socks off the nation.”

So there you have it. Their website is here. Their sales email address is here.
