On Thursday 17th January, NIVO supported an RNIB organised theatre visit to the West Yorkshire Playhouse production of the Wind in the Willows.  More than 100 visually impaired children attended with their siblings and parents and they were able to experience the theatre like never before, thanks to an audio description of the production, delivered thanks to specially provided headphones, sponsored by NIVO

Afterwards, the children were invited to meet the actors and feel the costumes and props.

Michelle Hefferon, Business Development Manager and Michael Levi, Chairman of NIVO, went along to meet the children and give them a special gift each designed for their needs, which ranged from talking alarm clock, ‘smelly’ pens, recordable message toys and audible footballs.

“The support is very much appreciated.” Carly Mason, RNIB

Not only that:  some of the NIVO supply partners generously donated products for a wonderful goody bag.  United Biscuits, Campina, A G Barrs, Kraft, Blakemore Wholesale, Britvic, Aimia Foods, Multiple Marketing, P&H Snacksdirect and Seabrook all pitched in.

Carly Mason from the RNIB said “A wonderful time was had by all, especially those children who don’t usually get to have such an immersive theatre experience. The support is very much appreciated”.

Michael Levi, himself visually impaired said “We were only too pleased to be associated with the RNIB in such a worthwhile cause”
