NIVO has signed up healthy eating brand Slim-Be as a supply partner.
Initially NIVO will offer Slim-Be’s new ‘all green traffic light’ chewy cereal bar, to its vending members. The cereal bar is available in three flavours – Strawberry, Caramel and Apple & Cinnamon – and as we reported previously on PV, is the first all green traffic light bar in the UK. Slim-Be has specifically targeted the vending industry with the product, thanks to its health credentials. The bars are free from artificial flavours and preservatives and contain Konjac, a natural root extract which, when taken with water, helps you feel fuller for longer. Konjac has no known side effects and is suitable for everyone regardless of allergies. There’s a patent pending on the formulation process.
‘We are delighted that a major group like NIVO has recognised the appeal of our cereal bar’, Slim-Be’s founder and managing director, Franco Beer told PV. ‘It’s an ideal product for vending machines and catering facilities, particularly in hospitals, educational establishments and other locations where there is pressure to offer healthy food choices.’
The cereal bars are currently being trialled in selected hospitals in the Bristol area by JW Vending and PV will report on the success of the trial as results are published.
NIVO Business Manager Michelle Hefferon said ‘we now have over 280 vending members and we are constantly on the lookout for innovative new products to help them meet their clients’ needs. There is demand in many sectors now for genuinely healthy products that also taste good. The Slim-Be cereal bars definitely meet those criteria!’
Slim-Be will launch more all green traffic lights products in the next few months, including a gluten free porridge.
