MorVend Partnership Signifies Tilda Foodservice’s Move into the UK Vending Market

MorVend has partnered with rice suppliers Tilda Foodservice to bring healthy and Covid-safe hot meal solutions to the workplace through traditional vending equipment and Micro Markets.

The partnership means that MorVend customers can now offer delicious and nutritious heat-to-eat, plant-based dishes to their employees as part of their vending offer – a positive step; as companies adapt to a new way of catering and demand for more vegetarian and vegan options is escalating, as reported recently in Planet Vending.

Eric Morton with daughter and General Manager, Fenella.

‘As vending operators, we are always looking for innovative options to offer to our customers’, Eric Morton, Managing Director, MorVend said. ‘It’s more important than ever that consumers have access to healthy snacks and dishes on-the-go and by working together we can satisfy this demand by incorporating the Tilda microwavable Steamed Rice range into our portfolio. We are excited to be able to offer this product to our consumers through either their traditional vending equipment or micro-markets moving forwards.’

Tilda’s two-minute Steamed Rice range is the easy solution

With seven million people in the UK maintaining a vegetarian diet and a further 3.5 million people following a vegan lifestyle, Tilda’s two-minute Steamed Rice range is the easy solution to meet the demand for more options that support good health and wellbeing. The entire range is 100% gluten free, vegetarian – largely vegan – and made with natural ingredients.

‘They’re perfect as a complete meal or snack and the offer includes consumer favourites and trend inspired flavours such as Peri Peri, Coconut Basmati, Caribbean Rice & Peas, as well as Sweet Potato Chili & Coconut’, Eric said. Tilda’s core range is also available including Pure Basmati, Pilau, Basmati & Wild and many more. All are packed with nutrition including vitamins, fibre and protein.

Tilda’s Gareth Jones: ‘demand is certainly out there.’

Annette Coggins, Head of Foodservice, Tilda UK, told PV: ‘Our partnership with MorVend will revolutionise vending and opens up a world of cuisines, flavours and nutrition in hot-food offerings that’s not been seen before. Finally, it means that those caterers who trust and love the Tilda brand in the kitchen, can make sure their consumers have the same amazing taste experience when eating on the go.’

The sealed 250g packs have been specifically designed to vend through traditional vending equipment, offering complete hygiene control, additional options for end consumers and the opportunity for increased sales.

‘To take the trial to a permanent listing with MorVend shows that demand is certainly out there for healthier heat-to-eat options’, Gareth Jones, Regional Account Manager, Tilda UK said. ‘Tilda’s Steamed range is 100% vending friendly and can easily be included as an additional product line. As the UK’s trusted rice brand, our rice is instantly recognisable to consumers looking to elevate their plates away from home. Plus, it can help operators command that all important premium price.’
