CES 2019: Award for MatiPay, the vending IoT solution designed by SITAEL S.p.A.

MatiPay, the mobile payment system designed for the vending industry receives a CES Innovation Award in Las Vegas, it is one of the most important consumer electronic shows worldwide.

January 7, 2019 Las Vegas – For the second consecutive year, the IoT division of SITAEL (Angel Group), leaded by Matteo Pertosa, receives a CES Innovation Award in Las Vegas. This time the acknowledgment comes for MatiPay, the mobile payment and telemetry solution that converts vending machines into smart sales points supplying various typologies of goods and services in a multi-channel perspective.

MatiPay has been installed on more than 40,000 vending machines and already involves more than 500,000 consumers, who can use their smartphone to take a coffee, offer snacks and transfer money.

Thanks to a telemetry module, that can be easily installed in a few minutes, to an end-user mobile app and a dedicated management dashboard, MatiPay offers exclusives features for operators in the vending industry. In particular, it allows them to communicate with end users directly in order to improve their loyalty and, consequently, the service quality; at the same time, it creates an added value for all the parts involved in the vending process.

One of the features that most attracted the CES jury is the “virtual wallet”: it makes it possible to top-up the app wallet with both credit cards and cash, by using coin boxes and banknote readers with which vending machines are equipped. Credit can then be used to take a coffee or a snack as well as to purchase digital goods and services such as transportation tickets, telephone top-ups and coupons for online shops.

Considering that only in the United States more than 30% of the population does not own a credit card, MatiPay technology meets the requirements of all the users who cannot afford online products and services purchasing. To access these services, it is only necessary to ask the vending machines operators to install MatiPay system.

With this second prize, the division managed by Matteo Pertosa confirms its ability to create “disruptive” innovation recognized at an international level in all the fields in which it operates.
