The man with the most famous laugh in British athletics, Kriss Akabusi,delivered a gold-medal performance as he opened AVEX 2015.
It takes some doing to earn a standing ovation from an audience of vending people so early in the morning but Kriss had us all eating out of his hands.
Recounting the inspirational story of how his athletic talent was spotted by his army trainer at a young age, Kriss emphasised how having someone believe in his potential helped him to progress, go onto win Gold in the Olympics and have a successful sporting career.
He talked about the importance of setting personal strategies and goals, explaining that in his victory for Great Britain in the four by four, each team member had their own strategy for achieving the Gold medal. Although Kris was the one that crossed the line with the baton, everyone on the team had a role to play in that success.
Afterwards he took time to work the show floor and see what AVEX 2015 was all about, meeting exhibitors and posing for pictures for over an hour.
