Holidays Are Coming!

We’re pleased to republish Excel Vending’s latest blog post from Graeme Geddes! Hope it gets you into the Christmas spirit…

It was only a matter of time. For weeks now, the days have been getting shorter, and the nights, longer. We all know Christmas is on it’s way, but for the official countdown to begin, we had to wait for a specific sign.

On Saturday night, during the X Factor, that sign appeared.

During the second commercial break, our TV screens lit up with that big, red truck, sporting all its fairylights, and of course, those words, “holidays are coming”. It was the Coca Cola Christmas advert!

Now, here, at Excel Vending, as soon as we see that advert for the first time, we can officially say that Christmas is on its way.

The advert itself, has actually been running for almost 20 years, reinventing itself each year. However, in recent times, with domination of the likes of social media, where the public were given a voice, it’s popularity became apparent, and now the truck has it’s own Twitter and Facebook accounts.

And due to it’s popularity, over the past few years, Coca Cola has actually toured an identical truck around many cities, really bringing the magic of the Christmas Coca Cola advert to life.

And this year is no different; the truck is touring across the UK again.

The star of the legendary ‘Holidays are coming’ advert will be touring the nation, making 52 stops along the way and surprising consumers with a selection of festive treats from 23 November to 23 December.

So is the Coca Cola truck coming to a town near you? To find out, head to our Facebook page, and find our post about it, type in your postcode, and we’ll get back to you with the nearest stop to you, and what date it’ll be there.

Then you can go and see the truck in all it’s glory; have you photo taken with the truck and join in the Coca‑Cola festive celebrations! The area will be transformed into a snowy winter wonderland, with a choir singing carols and Christmas elves serving chilled Coca‑Cola drinks.

It’s just a pity the truck won’t be coming to the Excel Vending offices!
