The AVA under Jonathan Hart seems to be taking a new approach to PR, by writing letters to the Editors of the UK’s leading newspapers. And so far, so good news…
Last Monday, stories appeared in the media relating to the potential introduction of a sugar tax in hospital cafes and vending machines. Then, on Tuesday, there was a separate story in Scotland, following the publication of a Food Standards Scotland report, which called for a sugar tax and a ban on multi-buys and discounted products.
In response to these stories, AVA CEO Jonathan Hart, (pictured), got writing. As it stands, the following titles have published his letter:
· The Daily Telegraph – 20 Jan ‘16
· Daily Mail – 22 Jan ‘16
· The Guardian – 22 Jan ‘16
· The Independent – 23 Jan ‘16
· Scottish Daily Mail – 22 Jan ‘16
· The Scotsman – 22 Jan ‘16
Between them, these newspapers boast a combined circulation of 2,410,179 – that’s almost as many readers as we have at Planet Vending 😉 Not a bad start, though? And Mr Hart told us ‘we’ll continue with our activity to help balance the debate’, so expect plenty more…
