Eden Springs Launches Environmentally Friendly Range Of Cups

Market leaders in beverage solutions, Eden Springs, has announced the launch of a new environmentally friendly eco-cup range for both hot and cold beverage requirements.

Eden SpringsThe fully compostable plant-based hot water cups are available in 8oz and 12oz, single or double walled variants. Manufactured from sustainably-sourced paper and lined with plant-based PLA, the cups have exceptional thermal properties, making them ideal for a range of drinks from coffee and tea through to hot chocolate and soup.

The new 7oz PLA Plastic Compostable Water Cups are manufactured from cornstarch and along with the paper cups, are certified to break down in under 12 weeks in industrial composting conditions.

Eden’s new environmentally friendly 4oz Paper Cone is free from PE lining and can be easily disposed of through normal paper recycling.

Eden Springs“As Europe’s largest certified Carbon Neutral water and coffee services company, Eden is leading the market on climate action”, Brian Macpherson, Managing Director at Eden Springs (UK) Ltd, told Planet Vending. “That’s why we’re delighted to be adding this new eco-friendly range of cups to our offer. The use of plant-based materials not only delivers advantages after use, but also requires significantly less energy and generates fewer greenhouse gases during production. Plant-based materials, such as cornstarch, are a more sustainable option for cups as corn is a resource that can be regularly maintained and renewed without having a harmful effect on the environment.”

As part of their ‘Refresh, Refill, Reuse’ scheme, Eden Springs is also offering a range of re-fillable water bottles and coffee cups, avoiding recycling and compostable systems altogether. To complete the recycling theme, the company’s Premium 12oz Coffee Cup is  manufactured from recycled paper cups and is itself 100% recyclable. Other products include a BPA and phthalate free, 8oz Regular E Coffee Cup, a BPA free polyethylene 450ml Fuse Water Bottle, as well as a PS Tritan construction 650ml Premium Water Bottle with Fruit Infuser.
