BY JONATHAN HILDER

It is with deep regret that I have to advise you that David Hoskin, my friend, mentor, and vending legend has lost his battle with cancer and passed away on Monday, 11 November.

I like most of you, have known David for many years and his selfless input into the vending industry was immense. I am so pleased that we were able to recognize this at this years’ Vending Industry Awards by presenting him with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

For those of you who may not have known him quite so well, David had a highly successful career with Mars during which time he was not only a board member of AVA but also Chairman. He helped establish the EVA and was also Chairman of AVEX for a number of years. David then became one of the senior management team running Save a Cup on behalf of the industry as well as collating and helping create the AVA census which he also latterly also did for the EVA.

A strong family man of great intellect. I will miss my wide ranging discussions with him on his comfy sofas at home where he helped shape my views on both the industry and how to improve the AVA for the members.I am sure that you would want me to send the industry’s condolences to his family at this sad time.
David’s funeral, ‘a celebration of David’s life’ will be held at:
St. Paul’s Church,
Town Lane,
Wooburn Green.
HP10 0PW

At 2pm on Friday 22nd November.

Parking will be behind the church and next to the playing fields at the rear of the church.

Afterwards please do join us at Hedsor House, Hedsor Park, Taplow, Bucks, SL6 0HX. No flowers please but donations warmly received for the Macmillan Nurses.

Kind regards

Jonathan
