Burton’s Fish ‘n’ Chips is back and as Kammy might say, ‘they’re unbelievable, Jeff!’

There’s nothing fishy about the renaissance of everyone’s favourite childhood snack. Burton’s famous Fish ‘n’ Chips is back with a bang!

Fish ‘n’ Chips is a small (but mighty) brand that gets a lot of love from consumers. Admittedly, it’s been challenged in recent years because of poor distribution but those issues have been addressed and now, with the effervescent Chris Kamara as the face of a new PR and advertising blitz, watch it go: the former professional footballer and manager is a much-loved figure who currently co-presents the ITV television show Ninja Warrior.

Fish 'n' chipsBurton’s Biscuit Company was founded by Joseph Burton, in 1935. The company had a factory in Slough, Berkshire, where they produced a variety of snacks, including Fish ‘n’ Chips. With its distinctive newspaper-style packaging. It was designed to evoke the experience of eating traditional fish and chips. These days, Burton’s Fish ‘n’ Chips are produced in Edinburgh.

At the forefront of the revitalised product is the return of the legendary Fish ‘n’ Chips pub card, which was launched into the vending channel in July 2025 and is available exclusively from ARN. Targeting the licensed trade and leisure sites, it comes in packs of 3 cards, each containing 15 x 40 g packs.

Adam O’Brien is Burton’s National Account Manager, Foodservice – and he’s extremely confident in the potential for this iconic product to reclaim its pre-eminence in the category. ‘For the uninitiated, Burton’s Fish ‘n’ Chips is a brand of salt and vinegar flavoured, mini baked snack biscuits shaped like fish and chips. They were originally launched back in the 80s and they were loved for their strong salt and vinegar flavour. And just to set the record straight, Fish ‘n’ Chips is not a fried product, it’s baked to perfection. Fish 'n' chips

‘It’s a real nostalgia hit for consumers as sales prove: they’ve been growing month on month since going live in December. We got great feedback and excitement at Vendex, not least because it comes in with a great price point for operators and there’s no VAT to pay’, he said.

Whilst it’s obviously a shoo-in for pubs and clubs, Fish ‘n’ Chips has also been doing brisk business in B&I sites, shopping centres, workplaces and travel locations and, as Adam says, ‘the 40g x 30 vending SKU is our best seller.’

As Kammy might say, ‘they’re unbelievable Jeff!’
