NEW CHAIR OF THE AVA
With the recent election of Gillian White into the AVA Board position as Machines and Components Representative, this gave the Board the opportunity to fill the Chair position recently vacated by David Llewellyn. Gillian White has bravely agreed to take on the role.
Gillian says: “I am absolutely delighted to take the role of Chair of the AVA at an exciting time of change for the association. We have a new CEO in David, and a new office.
Under David’s leadership, the association has a very big agenda of change; everything from member meetings, social activities as well as the crucial role of lobbying for issues that are important to us all. In today’s business context, a strong voice and trade representation, such as that of the AVA, is ever more relevant. I’m delighted, together with the entire board and AVA team, to be part of that future”
There are also a number of Board positions due for election prior to the AGM, being held at the AVA South East Regional Meeting at Scobie McIntosh on 20th June.
These will be:
- Commodities – currently held by JDE Professional and Tony Smith who will stand for re-election
- Machines & Components – EVOCA and David Ward who will stand for re-election
- Vending Operator (with turnover greater than £10M) – currently held by Selecta and Neil Thomas.

NEW OFFICE
Despite some hiccups along the way (don’t you just love BT!) we shall, at last, be in the new office from w/c 14th May. Having received notice to quit from our Saunderton office – which is being redeveloped into luxury apartments – we seized the opportunity to review the AVA property costs and will be saving around 35% on our annual accommodation budget with this move to Leeds.
