ARN Says ‘Happy Days are Here Again’ as Pringles Minis Prepares to Return to the Nation’s Spirals

ARN : All the goss, from Gordon

Hello again, hope all is well with you?

You’ll probably know by now that we’ve been pushing the boat out recently to celebrate 20 years service to ARN by the one-and-only Hylton Nesbitt. And hot on the heels of that, we have another great staff story to celebrate…

Abbie Hawthorn took a summer job at ARN in 2015, supporting general admin in the finance office. She was planning to head to uni to study nursing, but she discovered she had a natural aptitude for numbers and organisation and soon, the penny dropped: she realised she belonged in the world of finance. She’s never looked back and now, having passed her final CIMA exams, she’s a qualified chartered accountant in the role of Assistant Accountant, managing a team of seven.

I’m proud to say that Abbie’s step up the ARN ladder is the latest example of an internal promotion here at the UK’s only dedicated vending wholesaler, following in the footsteps of Kayleigh Towns and James Elliot. I know you’ll join me in congratulating Abbie and wishing her every success in her new role. And by the way, I won’t be surprised if we’re celebrating her 20 years of service down the line.

Next, I’d like to extend a sincere post-Vendex ‘thank-you’ to all those who visited our stand and placed orders with us. The net result was another great sales performance at the one-day show. (Those on-the-day deals are pretty good, aren’t they?!)

Finally, a heads-up: you’ll have heard about the return of Pringles Minis to the vending channel and I think I should remind you that in 2020 – when the product was originally launched into vending – advance orders surprised us all in term of the sheer volume of units. In those days, Lyndsey was the face of ARN and in an interview with Planet Vending, she said: ‘We have already taken pre orders for 4,218 cases for Pringles Minis Original and Sour Cream & Onion.’

Blimey!

Those were great days for vending operators. Kelloggs created Pringles Minis specifically for our sector and that meant our customers could command a premium price and enjoy healthy profit margins, by making a premium product available in a niche market.

Can lightning strike twice? You bet it can!

The moral of this remarkable story is clear: Get your pre-orders in as soon as you can. Once again, the available flavours are ‘Original’ and ‘Sour Cream and Onion’.  They come in outers of 28 x 40gm ‘grab bags’ at £13.99 a pop and remember, there’s no VAT to factor in. What’s more, the RSP of £1.20 delivers a POR of 50%. Place your order with your ARN Business Development Manager now, for June delivery.

Happy days are here again!

Until next time,

Planet Vending’s Editor is Ian Reynolds-Young and it’s Ian’s unique writing talent that has made PV what it is today – the best read (red) vending blog in the world, and vending’s best read (reed). Ian ‘tripped and fell into vending’, in the capacity of PR executive, before launching a specialist agency, ‘reynoldscopy’, dedicated to the UK Vending business. The company continues to represent the interests of many of the sector’s leading brands.

‘It’s all about telling stories’, he says. ‘We want to make every visit to PV a rewarding experience. By celebrating the achievements of the UK’s operating companies, we’re on a mission to debunk the idea that vending is retailing’s poor relation.’
