A Little Help From Our Friends

BY GILLIAN WHITE

Having worked in the vending industry for longer than I should probably admit, one thing has always struck me; the cameraderie that exists within our business!

Cameraderie ˌkaməˈrɑːd(ə)ri,-riː/ noun
1. mutual trust and friendship among people who spend a lot of time together.

If you like word games, you’ll see that CAMERA lies in amongst that best kind of friendship and Stephen Roe from Intelligent Vending was not only my comrade but also my ‘camera’ on the first day of AVEX.

Attending AVEX 2015, you couldn’t really miss that the entire centre of Manchester appeared to be a sea of hi-vis and building contractors! Traffic is busy at the best of times and, coupled with mediterranean temperatures, the best laid plans of mice and photographers meant that we needed to find a last minute knight in shining armour! Arise Sir Stephen, we salute you! Stephen very patiently walked round with me taking photos of the inimitable and loveable Kriss Akabusi meeting his new friends in the Vending Village!

In return, it was only right and proper for me to visit Ingenico’s stand where Intelligent Vending were showcasing their new SiriuS solution. A lover of all things tech, it was a really impressive demonstration of technology that deserves a place in the overall landscape of vending. Essentially it’s a retail platform that is bang on trend and allows an enhanced consumer experience at the vending machine. If you know anything about Millennials; tomorrow’s buyers and decision-makers, you know that technology and personalised experiences are at the heart of their world. The SiriuS platform, developed in the UK by Intelligent Vending, can deliver that experience. Called SiriuS, it’s worth a look. SiriuS PDF taster flyer:
