EDWCA – ‘We’re Equipped To Assist The Complete Coffee And Vending Industry.’

With so many traditional vending companies expanding their services to include the provision of water in all its forms, it’s no surprise that the EDWCA – the European Drinking Water Cooler Association – has decided to exhibit at AVEX 2017.

The EDWCA is in business to assist its members not only to deliver the best drinking water solutions to their customers, but also to help them achieve the highest possible standards. A trade association rather than a buying group, the EDWCA sets the industry benchmarks by assuring the quality of training, installation; hygiene, equipment; service provision, water quality and general maintenance.

‘We’re focused on providing members with clear standards, ensuring the health of the user is always placed at the centre of each standard and procedure’, David Albers said. David, one of two Vice Chairmen of the EDWCA, (the other is H2O’s Jim Redford), entered the UK water cooler business in the late 1980’s with Perrier UK, who pioneered the UK water cooler business with Buxton Springs Water Coolers and became the first UK wide water cooler company. With more than 25 years experience under his belt, his expertise is likely to be highly sought after at AVEX.

‘We’re hoping to demonstrate to AVEX visitors that the EDWCA – and the things we stand for – is not just for the water industry, but for the complete coffee and vending industry’, David said. ‘We believe we can provide services and knowledge that will deliver tangible benefits to both of those industries.’

David Albers

The EDWCA traces its roots back 15 years, and David has been on the Executive Council ‘since Day One’. The organisation currently has in excess of 100 members, mainly in the UK and Ireland but also in continental Europe. ‘Our core business is obviously water suppliers’, David said, ‘and we offer a wide range of services. For instance, members can source uniform suppliers through our association, as well as access specialist legal advice. We have Supplier Members and Operator Members, so our involvement is across the entire spectrum of the industry. We want people to think of us as their first port of call if they have a problem or an issue, or simply if they need advice, for example on quality of water, filtration or hydration, which is crucial. We like to think we do the hard work so our members don’t have to!’

You’ll find the EDWCA alongside the AVA on Stand 310.
