SMEs Benefit From Cashless Payments Says Study (Fin Extra)
The study demonstrates the positive effect of cashless payments on key performance indicators: More than half of the businesses surveyed indicate that they have seen a positive effect from cashless payments on sales (53%) and the share of new customers (51%). Around half of customers (49%) pay more attention to prices when they can pay only with cash; customers tend to have higher bills if card payments are accepted. Of the businesses surveyed, 43% report an increase in bill size and shopping basket amounts through cashless payments. Low down? HERE

Sony’s first IoT chip brings a 60+ mile range, can transmit from fast-moving vehicles (Techspot)
Vending Insight 38: Sony’s Eltres will launch in full in Japan later this year. Eltres employs small microchips and antennas to relay a signal-like sensor data to a base station, which can be over 60 miles (100 km) away. If the data was destined for a server the base station may have an internet connection, but it doesn’t have to. Sony gives the example of a drone tasked with monitoring an offshore farm, which could use the Eltres network to transmit location and sensor data. HERE
